“Insomnia” rapidly increasing disease in today’s generation. Insomnia is difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, even when a person has the chance to do so. But today’s generation stays awake conversating, socializing, surfing, listening songs and blocking screen and recording snap story captioning it sleepless or insomniac. Insomnia is a common sleep problem for adults. The National Institutes of Health estimates that roughly 30 per cent of the general population complains of sleep disruption. It affects the health and working capacity of an individual. At this age, adults have different sort of problems in their lives regarding college school and much more even I’m a college-going 18+ girl who stays up late thinking about my grades my love life even. I want to relate to those adults as much as I can. What we usually think while we’re sleepless? of course, whatever is happening in our lives,I bet half of this generation cry when they’re alone at night just because we overthink we’re afraid of what will happen next or what has happened in the past, We don’t live in our present. Even I’m an insomniac even thou I feel sleepy in the afternoon but at night my sleep is nowhere to be found. I cry I think about my past I overthink about my future! Normal person’s body requires 8 hours of sleep at night and we waste it on weeping.
How can we overcome insomnia?
Well, I’m not a psychologist but I’m the patient knowing a few stratagems. Firstly those who are extroverted and talk out their problems are fewer sufferers but those who are introverted I will advise them to talk to their parents they’ll understand our problems and why not they’re the one who knows us better than anybody, secondly try and make a schedule of your daily routine and manage your time so that you’re not left out with anything and work according to it so that you’ll feel tired and will sleep on time, thirdly remove all the sad songs from your playlist and add some motivational or slow songs so that you can listen to it while sleeping it will make you fall asleep faster. Majorly talk it out whatever is bothering you share it with your friends or family you will feel better moreover they will help you overcome your depression. Some adults who are more sincere towards their studies they stay up late to study, this isn’t natural. A study says If you’re sacrificing your sleep for that cramming, it’s not going to be as effective as you think, and it may be counterproductive or lead to many diseases such as headache weak eyesight and brain tumour. One of my relatives is having a tumour because she used to stay up late for studying. Don’t let your studies become dangerous for your health you’ll end up getting nothing but becoming insomniac.
